Each and every part of a Graham tonearm consists of various different materials to reach high internal damping, highest rigidity, and lowest colouration.

The new armwand features a custom-made carbon-fiber tube developed with a specialty manufacturer, offering a structure that is stronger than aluminum or titanium, yet significantly more lightweight and well-damped. Paired with a lightweight magnesium headshell for superior damping compared to standard aluminum, it drastically minimizes weight at the end of the wand.

The signature removable design remains, allowing for accurate, off-turntable cartridge mounting and alignment with our precise, patented alignment system—a valuable safety and accuracy feature of the Phantom series.

Swiss Precision Inside the Phantom Platinum Tonearm

The legendary unipivot bearing principle has been refined even further for the Platinum series. Built to exacting zero-tolerance specifications by a precision Swiss micro-dimension manufacturer, the tungsten-carbide matched bearing features a carefully machined, microscopically polished tip radius seated into a slightly larger matching cup.

This creates virtually friction-free movement in both horizontal and vertical directions, offering an infinite in-use lifespan. The system is surrounded by a specialized silicone damping fluid for micron-thin lubrication and maximum resistance to outside vibrations.

The Physics of Perfect Tracking

The patented Magneglide™ magnetic stabilizing system unties the long-standing Gordian Knot of unipivot setups. By positioning two magnets in a direct horizontal line with the pivot point at the exact same offset angle as the headshell, it ensures the stylus retains the stable positioning of a fixed-bearing arm while keeping the friction-free advantage of a single contact point.

Because the arm maintains true neutral balance, the tracking force remains perfectly consistent and will not increase when traversing record warps. Additionally, the secondary magnet is height-adjustable, allowing for effortless horizontal azimuth adjustments without twisting the headshell.

Unimpeded Signal Velocity

The Platinum armwand introduces a new internal wiring design utilizing 4-9’s silver-plated copper wire wrapped in a spiral grounding shield and protected by a silicone damping jacket. Inside the main housing, the signal travels through 5 strands of ultra-fine #42 gauge litz wire.

The microscopically small size of this wire allows the tonearm to pivot completely unimpeded, delivering a whip-fast, highly dynamic acoustic path that prevents typical insulation materials from absorbing and re-introducing energy into your high-end system.
